台灣金融證照對職場升遷及薪資報酬的影響

The impact of financial licensure on job mobility and wage returns in Taiwan

摘要


本研究為台灣首次使用公家機構行政資料對金融證照持有狀況及薪資進行分析,研究主要透過將「台灣金融研訓院」的內部考生測驗資料與「台灣勞動部勞動及職業安全衛生研究所」的勞保與勞退資料進行串聯,探討金融證照的貨幣報酬。金融產業作為整體經濟發展及長期產能增長的重要樞紐,如何對從業人員進行監管及規範是各國政府關注的問題,其中證照制度提供一套可行的篩選考核機制,確保金融從業人員能擁有一定程度的專業能力及職業規範。本研究主要透過完整金融證照測驗資料探討台灣金融證照考生的社經背景及考照偏好、並分別從(1)專業能力提升;(2)金融職場錄取機率;及(3)薪資加成效果,的角度探討金融證照對於持有者的價值,最後再討論持有金融證照對跨產業職業移動的影響。研究結果發現法定金融證照(License)對金融從業人員的金融職場錄取機率有顯著提升效果,同時法定以外金融證照(Certificate)對金融從業人員的金融專業能力及薪資加成效果有顯著的提升,此外持有金融證照張數越多會顯著降低金融從業人員離開金融產業的機率。

This is the first research in Taiwan using administrative data of public institution to analyze the status of financial license holders and their wages. We mainly explore the monetary value of financial licenses by combining the internal test dataset provided by “Institute of Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance” with the dataset of labor insurance and labor pension provided by “Institute of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health, Ministry of Labor”. As the financial industry is a key driver for overall economic development and long-term capacity growth, how to supervise and regulate employees is an issue that governments should pay attention to. Among them, the licensure system provides a set of feasible screening and assessment mechanisms to ensure that financial practitioners have a certain degree of professional ability and professional norms. This research mainly explores the socio-economic background and test preferences of candidates and discusses the financial licenses’ effect on holders from the perspectives of (1) professional ability improvement; (2) the admission probability of the financial workplace; and (3) the wage premium effect. Finally, we will discuss the impact of holding financial licenses on cross-industry occupational mobility. We found that financial license has a significant effect on the admission rate of financial practitioners in the financial workplace. At the same time, financial certificate has significantly improved financial professional ability and wage premium of financial practitioners. In addition, holding more financial licenses will significantly reduce the probability of financial practitioners leaving the financial industry.
