台、韓大尺寸液晶顯示器面板產業經營模式之比較

The Comparasion of Business Models between Taiwan and Korean TFT LCD Industries

摘要


論文摘要 目前台、韓液晶顯示器面板廠商比較的相關文獻並不多,且主要以質化分析台、韓面板廠商的製造發展策略與競爭優勢為主,本研究則加以延伸,將藉產業分析對全球液晶顯示器面板產業有所瞭解後,再以國家競爭優勢鑽石模型對台、韓液晶顯示器產業策略制定及經營模式差異進行分析比較,並提出建議台灣面板廠商提升競爭力的因應策略,亦檢視此策略對台灣面板產業鑽石模型裡各要素產生的互動關係,驗證理論與實際結果之間有何異同之處。 本研究發現,採「垂直整合、集團式生產」模式的韓國液晶顯示器產業與台灣產業的「專業分工」經營模式及績效表現不大相同,以鑽石模型要素構面來看,兩國之差異主要顯現於「企業策略、產業結構與同業競爭」、「支援產業-上游關鍵零組件產業」、「需求條件-本土下游應用產品市場」及「生產條件」四構面。 經本研究對台、韓廠商出貨績效及經營模式之比較分析,在目前上下游市場皆為寡佔的市場結構下,液晶顯示器零組件持續呈現缺料的趨勢,台灣面板廠商進行垂直整合的效益大於成本,本研究建議台灣面板廠商可藉由垂直整合上下游生產活動,以降低生產成本、確保零組件供貨穩定以及取得下游主流產品資訊,提高對主流產品規格掌握度。而此垂直整合策略主要牽動的要素構面為「企業策略、產業結構與同業競爭」、「支援產業-上游關鍵零組件產業」、「需求條件-下游應用產品市場」三構面,藉由提高台灣面板產業與南韓面板產業於此三構面的差異,台灣面板廠商“提高量產能力” 及”改善生產製程與技術“的策略目標才得以順利達成。

THESIS ABSTRACT Graduate Institute of International Business National Taiwan University Name:Chen, Shin-Yi Month/Year:June, 2004 Advisor:Dr. Lee, Ji-Ren The Comparasion of Business Models between Taiwan and Korean TFT LCD Industries Previous researches studying about the comparasion of Taiwan and Korean TFT industries are few, and they mainly focus on explaining of Taiwan and Korean TFT LCD firms’ manufacturing development strategies and competitive advantages. This research is devoted to give a full view of global TFT LCD industry, and uses Porter’s Diamond Model as the framework to analyze the differences of operatoin ways between Taiwan and Korean industries. Furthermore, this serearch also gives a suggestion to enhance Taiwan firms’ competence. Basing on this research, it shows the differences on operating models and performances between Taiwan models and Korean TFT LCD industries. Taiwan TFT industry adopts the “De-integration “ operating model, but Korean TFT LCD industry is contributed by big consortiums in “Vertical integration” model. By observing the Diamond Model, the differences of these two TFT LCD industries reveal on four factors, including “Context for Firm Strategy and Rivairy”, “Demand conditions”, “Factor(Input) Conditions” and “Related and Supporting Industries.” According to the proceeded comparasion and analysises, this research sugguests that Taiwan TFT LCD firms should conduct vertical integration activities, in order to cut down production costs, to assure stable component supplies, and to get information about users’ application to command the main product specifications. The beneficail results of this vertical integration strategy are proved in three factors of Diamond Model, containing “Context for Firm Strategy and Rivairy”, “Demand conditions-downward panel-applicated product markets” and “Related and Supporting Industries-upward part and component industries” Upon improving the disvantages falling behind Korean TFT LCD industry in these three factors, Taiwan could get the goal to strengthen mass-production ability and to better operating procedure and productive technology.
