A number of highway rights-of-way have been carved through dense urban fabric, providing more efficient mobility on the one hand, but also disrupting residential or commercial districts and displacing people and business on the other. Further, they tend to generate edges which are problematic to use in positive ways and that physically delineate social separation. A design approach to this phenomenon may be the joint development of infrascape associated with urban life and natural landscaping corridor by providing a means to link disrupted neighborhoods and communities with the scattered fragments of urban form. The graduate design project selects the urban transportation corridor of “JianGuo South-North Highway.” in Taipei as the example attempted to create the public space whose disposition is livable and environment-friendly for people ,as well as to revitalize the landscape urbanism along the urban transportation corridor .In addition, it also tries to propose the shaping and making of sustainable streetscape design in detail towards the postmodern urbanism.
