台灣物聯網IC設計公司之競爭策略探討:以R公司為例

摘要


近年來物聯網(Internet of Things; IoT)在全球科技產業是一個很熱門的話題,其龐大的市場與商機,已被全球視為主流趨勢,因而相關企業相繼投入大量資源創建IoT相關產品服務,並廣納不同應用領域的專業,共同發展完整的解決方案。其中半導體產業所生產的物聯網晶片則扮演著物聯網發展歷程的關鍵角色。 台灣晶圓代工產業已是全球的重心,整體相關支援產業包含測試、封裝也很完整,對台灣發展IC設計服務業奠定良好的基礎。未來物聯網晶片市場將呈現新戰局,高效能、低功耗、低延遲、少量多樣的晶片設計趨勢,成為各家IC設計公司的挑戰,台灣的IC設計公司要如何跳脫規格跟隨及低價競爭進入到高附加價值的平臺設計和生產整體服務模式,發展競爭優勢讓台灣物聯網IC設計產業成為全球的重心是一個值得深入探討的課題。 本研究係從國家及企業兩個層面探討台灣物聯網IC設計產業的競爭優勢及策略,並採個案研究法透過分析台灣具代表性的個案公司,嘗試透過內部分析與外部分析找出相關關鍵因素,再依此分析來歸納出內部的優勢、劣勢及外部競爭機會與威脅,最後依據SWOT分析模型提出建議的策略目標及競爭優勢,期能重建台灣物聯網IC設計產業未來成長動能的策略方向。

In recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) is a hot topic in the global technology industry. Its huge market and business opportunities have been regarded as the mainstream trend in the world. Therefore, related companies have invested a lot of resources to create IoT-related products and services. Among them, the IoT chips produced by the semiconductor industry play a key role in the development of the IoT. Taiwan's foundry industry is already the global center of Technology Industry. The related supporting industries including testing and packaging are also very complete, laying a good foundation for Taiwan's development of IC design services. In the future, the IoT chip market will present a new battle. High-efficiency, low-power, low-latency, and variety products under small quantity of chip design trends have become challenges for IC design houses. How can IC design companies of Taiwan get rid of specification follow-up and low prices? Competing into the high value-added platform design and production overall service model, developing competitive advantages and making Taiwan's IoT IC design industry a global center is a subject worthy of in-depth discussion. This research is to discuss the competitive advantages and strategies of Taiwan's IoT IC design industry from the national and enterprise levels, and adopt case study method to analyze one representative Taiwan IC design company and try to find relevant key factors through internal analysis and external analysis. Based on the analysis, the internal advantages, disadvantages, and external competitive opportunities and threats are summarized. Finally, the proposed strategic goals and competitive advantages based on the SWOT analysis model are expected to rebuild the future growth momentum of the Taiwan IoT IC design industry.
