In this thesis, the stepped-impedance resonators are used to replace the traditional quarter-wavelength shorted stub resonators in implementing the filters composed of coupled resonators. By varying the connecting line position between two resonators, one can effectively change the coupling so that the shorted-stub bandpass filters with various bandwidths may be realized. To suppress the harmonic spurious response, associated with the proposed filters ,the low-pass filters are incorporated in the filter design. Besides, the optimal distributed structures are used to realize the wideband bandpass filters. The limit of the bandwidth and the practical consideration are also discussed in the thesis.
