From monastery in Middle-Ages, evolve to the environmental sanitation in curing tuberculosis to physiology and psychology health, gardens in medical facilities are deeply thought to be perfect spaces for patients, visitors and staff to seek for calm and escape from work and nervous consciousness for awhile. For it’s undoubtedly an ancient but futuristic work, we must find out how landscape work profit to body and mind. Otherwise, many venerability hospitals in US renew their gardens for this purpose now, and make the hospital environment more flesh and blood. The domestic hospital building in Taiwan all belongs to the in command modern building outcome of the function doctrine, and the exterior space of the hospital building stays to establish all just for satisfying to set up the tube laws to request of adopt light and well ventilated standard. These interior regions spaces for release and greenly function, in addition to the routine outsourcing environmental hygiene sweeps, lack of the concern that should have outside, not mention to borrow a healing garden on promote one’s emotion. This research first returns to the principle and origin of the healing garden, introduce the foreign examples, and re-define the content and value of the hospital medical treatment garden. Seccondarily, study proceeds through case study research and Post-Occupancy Evaluation at both Sindian-Tzuchi Hospital and National Taiwan University Hospital. Finally, it evaluates both benefit and effect on the terrace healing gardens in medical centers, and try to propose the working principles and policy implication that we should improve in the future.
