摘要


目前,影片被各式各樣的數位方式記錄和傳送,並且由於影像編碼技術的迅速進展,不同的影像標準陸續被提出。因為網路發展、設備的多樣化,和影片格式的增加,在不同的系統之中溝通與交流變得困難且重要。所以,將影片由一個系統的要求轉換到另一個的服務是必要的,轉碼器就是使這成為可能的關鍵技術。 MPEG-2是最普遍的錄影格式,大量的多媒體資訊被保存在這個格式。但是,越來越多數位設備被加入了H.264/AVC這項標準,這項新標準卓著的壓縮表現幫助我們將存貯設備的運用最佳化,為了保存更加重要的多媒體並且以低頻寬做出更好的錄影品質,MPEG-2到H.264的轉碼器是必須的。 在這份論文中,我們提出並實做了一個混合領域的MPEG-2到H.264/AVC轉碼器。在intra-transcoding方面,我們討論了轉換域(transform domain)方面的方法,而在inter-transcoding方面,則是探討了空間領域(spatial domain)方面的技術。最後,我們的轉碼器使用了轉換域的方法來解決intra-transcoding的問題,而inter-transcoding則是以空間領域的方式解決。這個轉碼器的實驗和分析讓我們對於MPEG-2到H.264/AVC的轉換技術有更深的了解。

Currently, video sources are always recorded and transmitted in various digital formats, and due to the rapid progress of video coding technology, different video coding standards have been proposed. With the increase of networks, types of devices, and video formats, interoperability among different systems becomes more diffcult and important. Therefore, the service about converting video contents suiting the requirement of one system to another is necessary, and Video Transcoding is the key technology to make this possible. MPEG-2 is the most popular video format, many multimedia contents are preserved in this format. However, more and more digital devices are equipped with H.264/AVC, and the outstanding compression performance helps to utilize the storage devices, in order to preserve more important multimedia and to make better video quality with low bandwidth, an MPEG-2 to H.264 transcoder is a must. In this thesis, a Hybrid-Domain MPEG-2 to H.264/AVC Transcoder is proposed and implemented. For Intra-Transcoding, transform domain approachs are presented, and for Inter-Transcoding, spatial domain techniques are discussed. Finally, the transcoder solved Intra-Transcoding with transform do- main approach, and transcoding the inter-coded frames in spatial domain, and this transcoder is exaimed and analyzed to help us understand the transcoding procedure about MPEG-2 to H.264/AVC.
