同盟一直是國際政治研究的核心議題之一,國家為了維護自身的安全與利益,除了提升自己的整體國力外,最常用的方法就是實施對外結盟的政策。同盟理論主要在探討同盟關係形成的因素,國家選擇建立同盟關係時將面臨的困境。盟國之間可藉由定期的對話來穩定同盟關係。在第二次世界大戰之後,日本及澳洲為美國在亞太地區的忠實盟友。2006年3月18日在澳洲雪梨所舉行的「美日澳安全對話」,便是希望透過安全對話來穩定同盟關係。 因此本論文採取「文獻分析法」為研究架構,並以同盟理論為分析架構。藉由此次三邊戰略對話來研究美日與美澳同盟,三國在同盟關係中所面臨的困境。並藉由此次三邊戰略對話的來分析美日澳三國對於中國崛起的看法,以及美國建立亞洲北約的可行性。本論文之研究章節如下:第一章:緒論第二章:同盟理論第三章:美日軍事同盟第四章:美澳軍事同盟第五章:美日澳安全對話的戰略分析第六章:結論本論文獲得結論如下:一、中國崛起成為三國接受的事實,但是三國對於中國崛起的看法不相同二、澳洲避免在美國與中國之間做出選擇三、美國建立亞洲北約面臨許多困難
Alliance is always one of the core subject in international politics studies. In order to maintain national security and the interests, besides reinforce overall national power, alliance is accepted in most states in foreign policy. The alliance theory discusses how to develop alliance relationship, and alliance dilemma. Regular dialogue may offer the allies stable relationship. After World War II, Japan and Australia are the United States’ faithful allies in Asia Pacific region. Though trilateral strategic dialogue on March 18, 2006, the three countries can create a more stable relationship. This dissertation bases on “alliance theory” for analysis, and take “document analysis” approach as the method in order to research trilateral alliance relationship, alliance dilemma, foreign and defense policies of Australia and Japan. Australia, Japan and the United States’ point of view about rising China, foreign and defense policies of Australia and Japan. The feasibility for U.S. to establishes Asia’s NATO This dissertation is composed of six chapters as following: Chapter 1: Introduction Chapter 2: Alliance theory Chapter 3: The Japan-U.S. military alliance Chapter 4: The Australia-U.S. military alliance Chapter 5: The strategic analysis of trilateral strategic dialogue Chapter 6: Conclusion Finally, there are some conclusions drawn from this dissertation: 1. Those three states can accept “rising China’ but they have different point of view in rising China. 2. Australia government avoids making a decision between US and China 3. US face many difficulties in building the Asian NATO
