平路小說中的性別與空間——以《東方之東》《婆娑之島》為中心

平路小說創作多元，不管在議題與手法上皆勇於挑戰，然而，細讀其小說創作，會發現某些信念與母題重複出現，其中有一條重要的主軸是扣合著對台灣的關懷，此外，以新歷史主義的精神創作，迂迴對抗原本由官方掌握的歷史，亦是平路拿手的藝術手法。本論文以平路小說創作脈絡為基礎，以《東方之東》與《婆娑之島》兩本長篇小說作為討論中心，將其並置對讀。兩書創作時間相近，雖各自獨立，但創作手法隱然相似，內容亦有可相互闡發補充的特殊性。本論文分為五章，第一章緒論，說明本文研究動機、研究方法，並回顧相關研究成果。第二章，提出兩書中「以多元斷裂的敘事對抗單一線性敘事」、「在歷史的縫隙中想像」、「以邊緣解構中心」的寫作手法，確認其新歷史主義的寫作精神；在此基礎上，進一步提出「空間」與「性別」的論述。在第三章、第四章分別梳理文本中出現的「空間意涵」與「性別政治」，以「地理空間」與「概念性空間」兩大塊面討論書中出現的多重空間，及其背後豐富的意涵；以「角色隱喻」、「書寫與對話」，及「人物之間的隱形關聯」三個面向梳理人物之間的關係，且透過性別、種族等設定，討論國家的認同與衝突。第五章結論中，整理《東方之東》與《婆娑之島》在藝術手法與主題思想，說明兩書既有高度相似性，也有其開創性。

Having written a diversity of novels, Ping Lu is daring to take challenges, be it in issues or in writing strategies. However, if we closely read her novels, we would find some beliefs and themes recurring, especially a deep concern for Taiwan as a main line. In addition, writing with the spirit of New Historicism in order to confront the official history, which used to be controlled by the authorities, is also an artistic strategy Ping Lu is good at. This thesis is based on the thread of thoughts in Ping Lu’s novel-writing, centering its discussion on two of her novels "East & Beyond" and "Island Formosa" by juxtaposing them. The two books were written closely in time. Although they are separate works, their writing strategies are seemingly alike, and their contents have the specialty to interpret and supplement each other. This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter, Introduction, illustrates the research motive and methods, and reviews the results of related studies. In chapter two, I explore the writing strategies including “fighting against the singular, linear narration with diverse, broken narration,” “imagining in the cracks of history” and “peripherals deconstructing the core” to confirm the spirit of New Historicism in her writing. Based on this, I present discourses of space and gender. In chapter three and four, I respectively organize the “connotations of space” and “gender politics” in the texts, and discuss the multitude of space appearing in both novels from the perspective of “geographical space” and “ideological space.” I go on to analyze the relationship between characters from the perspective of “metaphor of characters,” “writing versus dialogue,” and the “invisible connection between characters,” and also explore identity and conflicts of nation through the setting of gender and race. In chapter five, Conclusion, I summarize the artistic strategies and main ideas of "East & Beyond" and "Island Formosa" before concluding that both novels share high similarity while having their own innovative originality.
