Following the rapid development of computer network technology and computer hardware, home automation era is coming. Networking and intelligence are trends for home appliances. Although the home automation related technologies have been studied for decades, most of the approaches focused on the application of existing technologies, i.e., LonWorks, X-10,etc. Fewer researches apply artificial intelligence technology for home automation. In this thesis, a system of remote monitor and control is built based on existing communication technologies. By doing so, the building cost can be reduced. On the other hand, fuzzy set theory is embedded into proposed system such that the human living habitat can be captured for proper control actions.
