國立科技大學應用英語系學生英語學習策略傾向之研究

A Study on English Learning Strategy Trend of Students at English Departments in National Universities of Technology

摘要


本研究旨在瞭解目前我國國立科技大學英語主修學生英語學習策略的整體狀況,並探討不同背景變項之英語主修生在英語學習策略上的差異情形,最後將所得結果作為診斷、分析與補救英語的依據,以供教師英語教學之參考。 為達上述研究目的,本研究採用問卷調查方法。首先,蒐集相關理論與文獻,其次依據文獻分析與前導研究資料,並使用Oxford(1990a)的語言學習策略量表(Strategy Inventory for Language Learning, SILL)作為研究工具,採立意取樣。資料回收後,採用集中量數與離散量數、相依樣本t檢定、獨立樣本t檢定、單因子變異數分析與薛費法事後比較分析進行資料的分析與討論。其結論為: 1.國立科技大學英語主修生在英語學習策略上,間接策略之使用傾向高於直接策略。 2.國立科技大學英語主修生英語學習策略使用傾向因性別、年級、學校所在地、英語檢定成果有顯著差異。 3.國立科技大學英語主修生英語學習策略使用傾向不因大學入學前就讀之科系而有顯著差異。 本研究最後依據研究結論,提出各項建議,以提供科技大學、教師教學、學生學習,與後續研究者之參考。

The study aimed to examine English learning strategies of English Department students at National Universities of Technology; investigate the differences in English learning strategies of these students with different backgrounds; offer the results to English teachers for reference. To achieve the above purposes, this study adopted the data collection method of questionnaire survey. Related theories and literature were collected. Oxford’s (1990a) “Strategy Inventory for Language Learning, SILL” will be revised and distributed. The collected data will be processed and analyzed by using the soft ware package SPSS 17.0 for Windows, measures of central tendency and deviation, dependent sample t-test, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffé. The following conclusions were drawn from results of the survey: 1.Indirect strategies were more common used than direct strategies by the students come from English Department in national technological universities. 2.Statistically significant differences were found among students with different genders, college years, school locations, and English achievements. 3.No statistically significant difference was found among students with different senior high majors. This study put forward suggestions based on the conclusions of the research. They will be provided to technological universities, teachers, students, and future researchers.
