環狀矽氧烷膽固醇液晶之研究

摘要


本研究分成兩個部分,第一部分為探討不同分子量之直鏈狀矽氧烷類液晶其Tg點的差異性,以FTIR (傅立葉轉換紅外線光譜) 1H-NMR來鑑定化合物的結構,並以POM (偏光顯微鏡)觀察其液晶特有的光學紋路,用DSC來觀察直鏈狀的矽氧烷類液晶的液晶相的熱轉移溫度並探討不同分子量之直鏈狀矽氧烷類液晶Tg點的差異。 第二部分將對-羥基苯甲酸 (4-Hydroxybenzioc acid)溴丙烯 (Allyl Bromide)合成長鏈烷基4-(allyloxy) benzoic acid單體,再將單體分別與4-phenyl phenol、Cholesterol酯化反應成Biphenyl 4-(allyloxy) benzoate (BAB)及Cholesteryl 4-(allyloxy) benzoate (CAB)兩種酯類化合物,此兩種酯類化合物單體依不同的莫耳比例27%BAB/73%CAB、50%BAB/50%CAB 、73%BAB/27%CAB反應接枝在環狀矽氧烷Pentamethylcyclopentasiloxane上的Si-H而合成出不同比例的環狀矽烷類膽固醇液晶,以偏光-衰減全反射-傅立葉轉換紅外線光譜儀 (Polarization Modulation-Attenuated Total Reflection – Flourier Transfer Infrared)來探討環狀矽氧烷類膽固醇液晶分子的三度空間排列。 第三部分成功合成含硝基偶氮苯環狀矽氧烷類膽固醇液晶,將4-(allyloxy) benzoate -4'-nitro-azobenzene (ABNA)、BAB、CAB接枝到環狀矽氧烷上,成分比例10%ABNA/45%BAB/45%CAB、30%ABNA/35%BAB/35%CAB探討加入不同含量的ABNA對最大反射波長的影響,照射紫外光後產生的最大反射波長位移,E型Azo benzene,轉變為Z型的Azo benzene,加熱後可回復為E型,未來可應用於可擦拭儲存媒體。

A series of liquid crystal polymers with different amounts of cholesterol mesogens are synthesized in this research. The values of Tg∞ and K (Tg=Tg∞-K/Mn) are determined in this investigation. On the other hand, different mesogens are bonded to cyclosiloxane. The structures of the compound synthesized are confirmed by IR spectroscopy. The thermal properties are characterized by DSC, POM (Polarized Optical Microscopy). In this research, the 3-D molecular arrangements are measured by Polarization Modulation-Attenuated Total Reflection-Flourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (PM-ATR-FTIR)
