本篇論文主要探討將GPS應用於Ad Hoc Routing,利用經由GPS所得到的位置資訊,得縮小on-demand-driven的routing必需做廣播的範圍。基本上在LAR的作法中已提出類似觀念,唯在縮小範圍內其還是使用傳統Flooding的方式廣播。在本篇論文中,針對設定縮小範圍,吾人進一步運用DBR的廣播方式加以改進,減少封包的傳輸數量。並將LADDR做模擬,實際將其與LAR做比較,瞭解我們的方法可提升多少效能。
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the application of GPS on the Ad Hoc wireless networks. Basically, through utilizing the location information of GPS, the broadcasting range and control packets may be reduced quite a lot for the on-demand routing protocol. In [5], the authors had proposed LAR for the above idea. However, for the reduced area, they still use the flooding method for the broadcast. In this paper, on the reduced area, we relax the flooding problem by utilizing the DBR [8] broadcast such that the control packets can be reduced further. Comparing our method (LADPR) with the LAR routing through simulation, it can be shown that our approach may decrease the amount of control packets immensely and is quite good for the improvement.
