負向列型液晶與旋光性物質複合系應用於電子書的研究

摘要


利用誘電異方性為負的nematic型液晶與旋光性物質混合形成複合系液晶,做其相行為與光學性質研究。此液晶複合系包含了三種形式的Ch相、M相,藉著變頻的方式來改變控制光學效果,達到光散亂與光透過的現象,並討論旋光物質的含量對複合系液晶相與光學特性的影響。此外再加入一種正型的nematic液晶形成三成份的液晶複合系,發現當改變電場的方式能夠達到雙安定的效果,能夠以homeotropic、focal conic,以及planar的方式穩定的存在著,期望可以應用於電場或頻率控制造成透光度快速變化而達到調光閥的功用,期望可以應用於電子書的研究。

Studies the phase behavior and electric-optical properties by mixed the negative nematic liquid crystal and chiral components. It contains 3 kinds of Ch phase and M phase. Scattering and transparent states can achieved by changes frequency or field. We also discuss the influence of the content of chiral component for mixed liquid crystal and optical property. Besides join the positive nematic liquid crystal again form the compound department of liquid crystal of 3 compositions, discover when change electric field can reach two stable effects, can with homeotropic, focal conic and planar. We hope applied in electric field or frequency control cause the rapid fast change of light transmittance reach the function of light-values or shutters.
