網際網路及新科技的快速發展,間接加速了流行文化的傳播速度及影響範圍。本論文的研究目的,將利用文本分析來探討台灣嘻哈音樂錄影帶中視覺意涵的發展,及西方嘻哈音樂傳播至台灣後的視覺圖像相容現象;另外,透過與視覺文化領域的專家學者及嘻哈音樂影像工作者的深度訪談,了解其視覺圖像於當代社會文化脈絡中的類型與意涵,以此檢視流行音樂中,嘻哈音樂再現的符號意象,並期盼此一初探研究,能開啟國內流行音樂及視覺文化間討論的相關研究。 根據本研究研究旨趣,進行包括音樂錄影帶,及相關視覺影像的文本分析,整理出八種台灣嘻哈音樂視覺文本常運用的圖像類型,藉此解析嘻哈音樂透過影像元素,所共同形塑的外在表象,及所隱含的價值觀與文化之發展課題,以進一步了解全球化下的生產運作機制於當代社會文化脈絡中的深層意涵。最後,整理出目前台灣嘻哈音樂視覺文化之相關發展建議,以提供在詭譎的全球化氛圍中,台灣影像工作者及相關文化發展所應注意的本土文化植栽課題。
The rapid development of the internet and other new technologies has accelerated the spread and expanded the coverage of popular culture. The research objective of this thesis is to utilize textual analysis to interpret the development of visual meanings in Taiwanese hip-hop music videos, and the influence upon those visual images of western hip-hop music. In addition, through in-depth interviews with experts and scholars of visual cultural and hip-hop music visual workers, it examines the significance of globalization upon the course of contemporary social culture. This thesis will examine the visual meanings that hip-hop music creates, with the expectation of initiating relevant discussion about visual culture among domestic popular music figures. The research identifies eight general types of visual texts associated with Taiwanese hip-hop music by analyzing the music videos and the text of the relevant visual images. Finally, it concludes with relevant suggestions for further development in Taiwanese hip hop music visual culture, in order to encourage Taiwanese visual workers to pay heed to the extraordinary and significant consequences of globalization, as they pertain specifically to grass roots cultural development.
