專利分析應用於專利策略選擇之探索性研究

摘要


公開的專利資料蘊藏豐富的資訊,不論以公司、產業或國家為分析單元,若能仔細對專利所提供的資料進行探勘,皆不難從中獲致相當豐富的資訊,然而許多公司非但不了解利用專利來當作策略資訊來源的優點,更少有利用專利資訊做為策略規劃之輔助工具。 本研究針對新近的專利策略主題,以專利分析為工具,經技術策略文獻探討後,認為影響專利策略的構面主要可分為技術面、市場面、及組織面因素,而再與學者過去曾利用專利指標分析做過的研究相互比照(mapping)後,本研究主要在技術面上(技術強度、技術多樣化)應用專利指標輔助研究分析,並同時考量組織規模以及技術生命週期,探討不同情境的公司,是否在專利策略選擇上會有所不同。最後,並提出本研究之研究心得及後續研究方向建議。

Public patent data contains abundant information. Whether the analysis unit is firm, industry, or country level, if deliberate on the information patent revealing, the researchers will find out lots of useful information. However, great majority know little merit about taking patent as the source of strategic information, not to say using it as a tool of strategic planning. Owing to the reason, this thesis focuses on the newly patent strategy topic, and adopts patent software as our analyzing tool. After reviewing technology strategy literature, we regard technology, market, and organization are the three main constructs affecting companies’ alternatives of patent strategy. We also do mapping the constructs with related researches which use patent indices as analysis tool. Finally, this research mainly uses patent analysis to distinguish the factors (technology strength and technology diversity) in the technology construct. In the meanwhile, technology life cycle and firm size are also our contingent considerations in forecasting firms’ possible patent strategy. In conclusion, I would like to share what I’ve learned in this research process, and suggest following research issues.
