資訊科技採納與客製化能力對新產品開發成功之影響

摘要


在強調專業分工而趨微利的全球競爭中,企業採用資訊科技納入他們的新產品開發流程中,為的就是希望新產品開發的成功率提高或是提供更好的績效表現。如今長於製造的電子代工廠商已面臨講究高彈性、快速度、少量多樣的客製化產品挑戰。因此企業需透過客製化能力希望藉此降低新產品開發流程的不確定性並分擔財務風險、以及在新產品開發的過程中藉由採用客製化的方式以及顧客所提供的知識、市場資訊和額外資源的多寡,來提升新產品開發成功的績效。此外,除了探討這些因素的連結也檢視了資訊科技採納和客製化能力的前置因素。 基於這樣的目的,本研究主軸在於進行資訊科技與新產品開發之相關議題研究,透過廣泛的文獻搜集與整理,研究進行的議題包含「資訊科技採納」對「新產品開發成功」之影響、「客製化能力」對「新產品開發成功」之影響、資訊科技採納的前置因素對資訊科技採納之影響以及客製化能力的前置因素對客製化能力之影響,並由此彙整提出一概念模型。研究對象以持續進行新產品開發活動且知識密集的電子和高科技產業為主,採取專家訪談與問卷調查的方式進行資料收集,經由 SPSS 的統計軟體應用來分析問卷回收後的資料。其研究結果發現企業的資訊科技採納與客製化能力確實對新產品開發成功有所助益,對企業而言,企業採納資訊科技和客製化能力的程度越高,則對於新產品開發成功的績效上也就會越高。因此建議企業應在新產品開發上積極實施資訊科技以及加強客製化能力,以增進新產品開發成功之績效。

Due to the recent movements of core competence focus and tend the global competition of profit squeeze, enterprises have been aware the importance of adopting Information Technology (IT) and enhancing customization capability in current business practices. Among these practices, the issue of New Product Development (NPD) has been drawn much attention from practitioners as well as academicians as a critical element for better business performance. However, how to successfully adopting IT, incorporating the use of customization and acquiring customer knowledge and market information in NPD process is required to be further studied. Thus, the main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effects of IT adoption and customization capability on NPD success. Literature of NPD, IT adoption and implementation, and customization were fully reviewed. The antecedents of IT adoption and customization capability were identified as technology characteristics, firm characteristics, and customer involvement that were also studied. A research framework was then depicted and hypotheses of the relations among variables in the framework were provided. An empirical survey was performed that questionnaires were mailed to 700 Taiwan electronic and hi-tech companies. A total of 172 valid observations were collected and the statistical analysis (e.g. descriptive analysis, correlation, independence t-test, and regression analysis) was performed and to verified the hypotheses proposed. The analysis results showed that all hypotheses are all supported such that IT adoption and customization capability are both have positive effects on NPD success. In addition, technology characteristics and firm characteristics are shown to be positively correlated to IT adoption and firm characteristics and user involvement are also positively related to customization capability. Managerial implementations and future research directions are also provided in the text.
