自民國75年開始,國內外旅客逐漸增加,但我國之國際觀光旅館經歷了民國88年之921地震、民國90年之全球經濟不景氣及民國92年之SARS,嚴重影響到我國國際觀光旅館業的經營,以民國91年之稅前獲利率而言,大部分之國際觀光旅館為負數,可知我國國際觀光旅館處於供過於求之狀況。但是對個別國際觀光旅館而言,其稅前獲利率差異很大,即表示某部分國際觀光旅館之經營效率優於其他。因此本研究使用資料包絡分析法的CCR模式、BCC模式及SBM模式,以餐飲員工數、客房員工數、餐飲部門總樓地板面積及客房數為投入項,客房收入、餐飲收入、住房率及平均員工產值為產出項,探討個別國際觀光旅館之經營效率。另外,運用Bilateral模式,探討著重於餐飲部門、加入旅館連鎖體系及主要顧客來源別不同之國際觀光旅館的經營效率是否有所差異。本研究結果顯示35%之國際觀光旅館具有技術效率,48%之國際觀光旅館具有純粹技術效率,而餐飲部門之重要性與加入旅館連鎖體系之國際觀光旅館的經營效率比較高。
The domestic and foreign visitors have increasing from 1980, but the operation of the International Tourist Hotels in Taiwan have deeply influenced by the earthquake in 1989,the recession in 2001, and the event of SARS in 2003. For example, the rate of return before tax in large International Tourist Hotels is negative in 2002. It means that International Tourist Hotels is over supply. According to the statistics of Tourism Burean of the Ministry of Transportation and Communication, there is a large difference in the rate of return before tax among International Tourist Hotels. It implied that some International Tourist Hotels operate better than others. This study uses Data Envelopment Analysis to measure the operational efficiency of the International Tourist Hotels in Taiwan. In addition, this study uses bilateral model to examine what influences the operational efficiency of them. The results revealed that 35% of International Tourist Hotels in Taiwan have technical efficiency, 48% of them have pure technical efficiency. Moreover, the importance of meal department and joining the international chains are significantly influencing the operational efficiency of International Tourist Hotels in Taiwan.
