"Productivity Enhancement" and "Total Quality Management" have become essential to survival with more and more complicated and dynamic market environment. How to develop competitive advantages by increasing internal operation efficiency, integrating upstream and downstream supply chain system are all critical issues for a global enterprise. This research focuses on two main objectives: develop implementation processes for "the worldwide order management system (WOMS)" and integrate "the new system with other existing systems". To develop the implementation processes, discussions with different experts were conducted during the system analysis stage. Their feedback becomes the backbone for the worldwide order system framework. During the integration stage with other internal and external (both customers and suppliers) systems, RosettaNet PIPs are taking into account for future system extension. After the development and implementation of the WOMS, the response time for quotation is reduced to 2 to 5 minutes and the ratio that a customer’s quotation becomes an order increases by 26%. This indicates that WOMS does provide many advantages on cost and efficiency improvement comparing to the traditional operations of purchase, production, delivery, payment process and service. Also, the case company can reach a new strategy position through further system integration.
