摘要


台灣的許多代工企業多以代工設計與代工製造(Original Design Manufacturing, ODM)經營模式起家,然而設計部門與客戶之間,設計部門與製造部門之間均存在一定的認知落差。若設計部門未能充分掌握客戶的需求,也不了解自身製程設備能力或製造工序範圍,而僅在設計上一味追求藝術品味或組件的複雜度,終究會讓生產成本提高,生產力下降。 為了解決設計缺失造成製造生產的困擾,以及其中缺少反饋機制,而造成無法面對競爭劇烈市場需求的問題,本研究提出「可製造性設計(design for manufacturing, DFM)」做為其解決方案。本研究以個案方式,透過對個案公司推動可製造性設計系統的歷史演進來說明此模式運用與執行的重要關鍵。 本研究並針對系統建立與執行的阻礙,提供包括「爭取高階管理階層的全力支持」、「以協同合作模式代替命令式要求」、「與公司內品質系統進行連結」、「強化知識庫與電腦系統的整合」、「將客戶端需求納入DFM系統」、「要求產業鍊供應商同時導入系統」、「進行可自動化設計先導專案」等七項重要管理建議。

Insufficient coordination among design engineers, customers, and manufacturing engineers is a critical issue for many firms in Taiwan that adopt original design manufacturing (ODM) business model. If design engineers do not fully understand the requirements of their customers and ignore manufacturing capability or proper or natural steps to assemble product, probable production problems would not be addressed early during the design stage, and thus increase overall cost of production. Design for manufacturing (DFM), a management philosophy and design methodology intended to improve the coordination between different parties, can be used as a solution to above lack-of-coordination problems. However, DFM is not a panacea. This study uses a case approach to describe the obstacles that a company usually face when implementing a DFM system, summarize seven key factors that lead to successful DFM implementation, and provide important management implications for other organizations that plan to build a DFM system.
