時間觀點、時間管理及工作績效之關係

摘要


在現今忙碌的社會裡,時間不再只是生活歷程,而是人們寶貴的資源。回顧過去的文獻,雖然時間是相當重要的議題,但卻鮮少得到學者的關注。每個人對於時間的態度與看法皆不盡相同,而不同的時間觀點對於時間的管理與控制將有差異,其也會影響到個體在組織中的表現。 人們基於不同的文化、宗教、家庭、教育及工作背景等因素,會有不同且穩定的時間觀點。時間觀點主要探討個體將注意力放置於過去、現在或未來所衍伸出的態度與行為,而本研究將以現在時間觀點與未來時間觀點為主,探討不同時間觀點的個體在組織中時間管理的狀態與其表現之行為。 本研究將採用問卷調查法,以一般工作者為研究對象,總共有效問卷為513份,經統計後發現: 一、現在享樂導向與時間規劃呈現負向相關、與紓壓休閒呈現正向相關,與人際溝通、分工合作、工具應用之時間管理不具顯著相關。在工作績效方面,現在享樂導向與任務績效呈負向相關、與脈絡績效呈現正向相關。 二、未來導向與時間管理之各構面皆呈現正向相關,亦與任務績效與脈絡績效皆呈現正向相關。 三、現在宿命導向與時間管理各構面以及任務績效皆不具顯著相關影響。 四、現在享樂導向會透過時間規劃與紓壓休閒進一步影響任務與脈絡績效。 五、未來導向會透過時間規劃與紓壓休閒進一步影響任務績效;以及透過時間規劃、分工合作、工具應用、紓壓休閒進一步影響脈絡績效。

Time is not only minutes and seconds that life spans, but also is the important resource as precious as money. Actually, everyone’s attitude and point of view toward time may be different, and the difference may influence his/her time management and control. Of course, various time perspectives may lead to various styles of time management and, in turn, time management styles may affect performance. However, even though time is an important issue, there is little research concerned the effects of time. Therefore, this study will explore the effects of time perspective, time management on performance. Time perspective is a stable disposition that comes from individual’s religious, family, education and work background. Hence, different people have various time perspectives. In detail, time perspective is a fundamental dimension partitioning human experience into past, present, and future temporal frames (Zimbardo & Boyd, 1999). This study will focus on future and present orientation and aims to examine the relationship between time management and job performance in the organization. Therefore, here are the hypotheses: H1: Different time perspectives lead to different styles of time management. H2: Time perspective is related to job performance. H3: Time management is positively related to job performance. H4: Time management is a mediator between time perspective and job performance. This study will use survey to examine the above hypotheses. Time perspective is measured by Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZPTI). Time management style and job performance will also be measured. Data will be collected from 500 valid samples to examine the above relationship.
