這項研究的目的是探索中文能力對外國學生在臺灣的職業生涯目標的影響。除了中文能力、個性、社交網絡、和知識管理過程能力等因素也影響這些外國學生的職業生涯目標。臺灣高等教育的外籍學生隨美國和歐洲國家到亞太地區來的學生增長趨勢成同時期之最高(Chou, et al., 2012)。此外,許多研究對外國學生的經驗、生活作風.與學習效果進行了解。在臺灣的外國學生數量在過去幾年增加許多。 本研究採取定量方法對外國學生的職業目標,中文能力,與學習科目與課程,看其之間的影響效果。受訪者來自臺灣各地不同背景、不同大學的外國學生。通過線上社交網絡向他們分發一份調查問卷(其中包含銘傳大學外籍學生),共收集了104名外國學生。結果顯示中文能力和個性對職業目標在加入課程前沒有顯著的影響,但課程後的程序卻有顯著的影響
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of mandarin capability on foreign student’s career goal in Taiwan. In addition to mandarin capability, factors such as personality, social network and knowledge management process capability were also added to see the effect of these to the foreign student’s career goal. Trends in Taiwan higher education shows that there is an increase of flow of students from the United States and European countries to the Asia Pacific Rim is at an all-time high. (Chou, C. et al., 2012). In addition, a lot of research has been conducted to understand more on foreign students experience and life style while they are abroad. The amount of foreign students in Taiwan has shown to be increased in the past few years. A quantitative approach was taken to see the effect on foreign student’s career goal before they came to Taiwan and after they have started their programs. The respondents were foreign students from different universities across Taiwan and from different background. A questionnaire was distributed to them through the online social network and was also distributed to Ming Chuan University and participants of 104 foreign students were gathered. The result shows that mandarin and internal personality has an influence on career goal after the programs have started but there is no significant relationship of mandarin or the other variables with career goal before the program starts.
