In order to devise a temperament questionnaire that includes both theoretical construct and empirical research evidence, and could obtain the behavior information about children with ADHD quickly. The purpose of this study were to analyze the reliability and validity of the Children’s Behavior Questionnaire – ADHD Version, which was base on the temperament construct proposed by Rothbart, et al. The process was believed to facilitate the understanding of the temperament characteristics as well as the developmental process of temperament in children with ADHD . Participants were 82 mothers whose toddlers were at age1.5 to age 3. Research instruments were Children’s Behavior Questionnaire – ADHD Version, Disruptive Behavior Disorders Rating Scale – Toddler Version, Toddler Temperament Scale, and the temperamental subscale of Parenting Stress Index. The result shows that the internal consistency and test – retest reliability of Children’s Behavior Questionnaire – ADHD version were acceptable. The correlation coefficient between Children’s Behavior Questionnaire – ADHD version and Toddler Temperament Scale were significant. The same result was found between Children’s Behavior Questionnaire – ADHD version and temperamental subscale of Parenting Stress Index. Furthermore, concurrent validity was found at the two correlations mentioned above. To analyze the relationship between the developmental process of temperament and the behavioral pattern, the method of gathering the longitudinal data of high risk of ADHD groups was suggested to be hold in the future. Further research could aim to design an appropriate intervening program according to the findings of temperament characteristics in children with ADHD, which would provide an effective guidance for parents to deal with the conflicts between ADHD toddlers more flexible.
