This study takes a closer look at structure and functions of one of the few global scale design platforms specialized in offering services related to color science, materials, technologies and product trends: the Colour and Material Design Lab of the Taiwan Design Center. In this case knowledge management was chosen as the key issue to design the strategy for compiling information of the model, recognize critical problems and opportunities for improvement. The research was developed in line with the requirements of the internship program for the International Master of Arts Program in Cultural and Creative Industries (IMCCI) that during three months made possible to participate in work routines, conduct personal communications, and take advantages from the physical and digital resources.
