一個傳統村庄的工藝發展樣貌
—以蘆洲工藝人的記憶為例(1935-2009)

摘要蘆洲昔稱為和尚洲，原本為一塊河島沙洲，曾經繁植進貢天皇的蜜柑，也是台灣首批引進草莓和養蜂事業的所在；對於本文的寫作方式，筆者希望先透過歷史的角度系統性的介紹蘆洲自然環境，並將村庄發展的過程與自然環境的關係作一背景式的探討，再經由環境對於宗族寺廟興建的地點與市街形成的影響，來觀察各工藝產業在市街發展與興盛的原因，藉由對於傳統工藝產業發展的時代背景、生產機制與工作組成結構的了解，來看整個產業對於蘆洲發展的影響，最後從當時蘆洲工藝發展的過程與生民的互動，用以觀察傳統工藝產業與生活在這塊土地上人們的關係。期望經由觀察幾個深植於民間傳統產業的興衰，藉以從中了解蘆洲傳統鄉民社會的背景及生民活動的關係，重塑一個技術層面不高且材料方便取得的產業，如何為一個自然資源貧乏又遭遇充滿變數環境的蘆洲人，帶來新的社會網絡與經濟活動，並經由這樣的活動現象延伸到消費與生產之間的關係，來看一個傳統工藝產業對那個時代人們的影響。生活價值與生命態度的表象，它背後所要傳達的是屬於那個時代的意義，也是現代社會對於木屐這樣的產業所衍生的特殊情感與距離上的投射；簡單樸質的形式更突顯了在那樣一段歷史當中，人們對於物質慾望單純且真誠面對生命時，努力完成個人存在意義的可貴之處。
