跨越與轉化 ─ 從靜態攝影到劇場光影 以《癡人大秀FOLLIES》及《回家的方法》為例

摘要


此展演報告的主旨在探討個人基於對靜態攝影的喜愛而踏入劇場燈光設計的領域,其中經歷跨越與轉化的學習歷程,如何從缺乏劇場知識與經驗的門外漢,在研究所的訓練過程中,引進以往人文背景、廣告、傳播及攝影的訓練,轉化為創作燈光設計時的養分,一步一步的充實與累積後,逐漸成為劇場專業工作者。 在跨領域的研究所初期遭遇許多難題,例如:從攝影棚靜態2D攝影到劇場動態3D的燈光設計之間種種跨越的困難,燈光技術與燈光設計基礎知識的不足等,在研究所前兩年的訓練過程中,透過課程與實習計畫逐步補強劇場、燈光技術與設計的知識與經驗,進而得已掌握燈光設計所需的各項元素。 本文舉兩個燈光設計的創作為例,分別是《癡人大秀 FOLLIES》 及《回家的方法》,前者是音樂劇製作,着重於燈光色彩的研究,學習新的燈光設計方法,嘗試使用深色面光建構每個場景的整體氛圍,同時學習用更邏輯思考的方式來選擇合適的燈光用色,呈現出和每首曲目的情感緊密結合的色調。後者則是戲劇製作,全劇現實和幻想交織出現同一個舞台場景,因此燈光設計着重於區別寫實與非寫實場景的時空,讓兩者的區隔更為明確,且讓虛實的交替轉換更為流暢。 有鑑於劇場藝術的深奧外人難以窺見,希望藉由分享自己對劇場從陌生到熟悉的學習經歷,提供其他有意從事燈光設計卻無相關經驗或訓練背景者參考與協助。

This performance report aims to explore my enthusiasm of static photography into the field of theatre lighting design. It represents the learning process through crossover and transformation. I was an outsider lack of theatre knowledge and experience. During the learning process in graduate school, I have extended the training of cultural background, advertising, communication and photography in the past and transformed them into the nutrients of lighting design creation. Through the improvement step by step, I gradually become the professional worker in the theatre. In the beginning of interdisciplinary study, there were so many problems. For example, the gap to crossover between 2D studio static photography to 3D theatre dynamic lighting design, the lack of basic knowledge of lighting technology and design and so on. During the first 2 years of graduate school, the knowledge and experience of theatre, lighting technology and design had been improved through the courses and practical training. I had grown to control all the required elements in lighting design. Take two lighting design works for example - and . The former was a musical production focusing on the research of lighting colors. I studied the new lighting design method, tried to build the overall atmosphere of each scene through the dark front wash lights, learned to use a more logical way of choosing the right lighting colors and represented the close connection between colors and emotion of each song. The latter was a drama production. The reality and illusion were intertwined on the same stage. Therefore, the lighting design focused on distinguishing the different time and space between realism and non-realistic scenes, drew a clear line between two segments and let the shifts went smoothly. Considering that it is difficult for outsiders to get the idea of theatre art. I hope to provide the help and reference for those who want to engage in lighting design but lack of relevant experience or training by sharing my learning experience from an outsider to a theatre worker.
