影像的真實性 - 數位時代的感知經驗

摘要


當代所謂「真實」的問題,不是「真實本身」的定義,而是我們正受數位時代的洗禮,不斷沉溺在感官經驗的「真實體驗」。「真實」很難作絕對性的定義,因為這個時代的人所感受到的真實,已經轉變為一連串、目不暇給的影像經歷的切身感受。我們身處在這個數位時代,不得不接受無限複製、同步呈現的眾多檔案所編織的影像環境裡。而這種影像經驗已經不再是擬真或抽象表現的問題,而是由量變轉為的質變問題。 這個時代充滿著的數位化、電子化的影像介面,讓影像喪失了景深,缺乏深度影像造成內涵的質變。在不同的電影鏡頭裡夾帶了不同時空的豐富語言,在不同解析度的電子影像裡夾帶的是不同的資訊,而這種只能供讀取、不能供賞析的視覺經驗,正是本文所謂數位時代影像內涵的最大特徵。 數位時代裡影像真實性的問題,其實與數位影像夾帶的是資訊而不是意象有著密切的關係,影像不再是眼見為憑的保證,所有視覺經驗都可能無法回溯到真實而失去了理性概念的依據。我們在這樣的影像環境之中,一方面逐步遠離語言文字的理性概念,一方面作為新文本的影像又是如此充滿著不確定性,如何建立真實性的論述將是一個全新的經驗。 由於生活背景的不同,每一個身體即使是面對相同的情境,也可能呈現出不同的身體感知。身體的感知經驗是作品與觀眾最純粹的交會點,以素樸的心態凝視一件作品時,將會喚醒無言、私密的真實感受。互動影像裝置《我,就在這裡》乃藉由錄影與監視同時呈現的方式,讓觀眾直接介入成為作品的一部分,希望在慣常使用的工具中發掘新的風格。

Contemporary so-called “true” question, not definition of “the true in itself “, but we receive baptism of digital era, indulging in sense of physical experience constantly with “ true experience “. “True“ will not be a hardly definable word, because of that had already changed into the personal perception feeling with succession of images in our daily lives. Our bodies have to accept environment that numerous image files duplicated limitlessly in the digital era. This kind of image experience is no longer a question of expression or abstract as usual, it is a qualitative change question that becomes out of shape of quantity. This era is full of digital, electronic image interfaces. The images had lost the depth of field what caused the qualitative change of flat images. The abundant linguistic meanings in different cinema scenes were gone. We can get different information in digital images, but few of meaning. This kind of images can only be read, not for appreciating vision experience. That is the exactly characteristic of image in digital era, as our thesis had mentioned. The Question of the reality of the image, in fact having close relations with the digit image, some of them had information instead of the view. The image is no longer a certification to reality. All vision experience may be unable to relate with reality, lose the basis of the rational concept. We are gradually far away from the rational concept of the spoken and written languages in such image environment, and full of uncertainty as we treat image as the new texture. How to discuss the authenticity will be a brand-new experience. Because of the various lives background, individuals may demonstrate different perceptions even if what faces the same scenario. The perception experience is the intersection point of the audience’s body and the works. A simple and unadorned psychologically feeling will wake up while we are staring at the works. This kind of feeling is of wordless, private feeling. Interactive video installation "I am just here" will directly bring the audiences participate in the works, that is recording and monitoring in the same time. The author wants to explore the new character of the tool what is used in our daily lives.
