「史卡特家的客廳」–圖像重組後的新現實空間

「Scott’s Living Room」–The New Reality Space of Recombined Images

摘要


以電傳速度傳輸為主的現代社會裡,追求速度及效率而造成身體經驗逐漸流失,人們多半依賴電話、網路來傳訊,面對面的交流越來越少;以此為鑑的筆者,嘗試再次找回身體在不同場域所得到的各種知覺,並且藉由拍攝來記錄當時的氣氛與身體知覺而加以創作。由筆者早期自然風景再造系列,到以拜訪朋友居家空間而得的室內空間影像重組系列,可以得知「人」與「空間」的關聯是筆者一直以來感興趣的主題。 重組照片的修像過程是融合了真實角落與當時身體感知,以對空間和友人們的情感加以創作;而修像後所得的「新現實空間」則欲提出一個以影像為介質,讓觀者藉以進入這「虛擬」空間做想像性的遊歷,成為大腦裡的另一種真實。以友人居家空間為基底所創作的室內空間影像重組系列更提出一種故事性,即使空間早已經過重組、再製,觀眾仍可以藉由空間、場所內物件來想像其中所曾發生過或未發生過的種種。房間主人雖不見得在畫面裡,卻與作品一體兩面的隱身在其中,這是因空間、物件的品味乃來自於房間主人,是空間與人交互影響的成果。 「圖像重組後的新現實空間」被歸類在擬像的一環,但筆者是以真實角落為基礎,並特意留下數位修像痕跡的再造一新現實空間,並非要切斷與真實的聯繫,投入無根的擬像流中;這留下的數位痕跡也成為一個進入這具有「童話性、故事性」修像空間的線索,並期望觀者能發現這些小趣味並且藉以進入新現實空間裡而重新思考「空間與人」的關聯。

The keyword of modern society is tele-transmission. People pursuing high speed and efficiency are relying on phones and internet for communication, generally losing vis-a-vis contact and body experience. Thus I try to find back the body perception in different places, recording the emotions into photo art works. The relation between "space" and "people" is a important subject in my works, as shows in my early digital photo works: "Natural world series" and "Indoor space series" from my friends' houses. I try to mix the reality photos, body perception, and affections for my friends and those spaces, and recombine them into one image.The result is "The New Reality Space", with which I invite viewers through the image into a trip to the virtual world, making it an alternate reality in the brain.The "Indoor space series" tell stories by recombining images of my friends' houses. Through the taste of objects and space in the rooms, people can image what has happened and will happen in the new reality space. By the mutual influence of space and people, even the owner of the space is not showing in each recombined picture, the viewer can still feel the personality. "The New Reality Space of Recombined Images" is a kind of simulation based on real space, and finally recreated as a new reality space with digital traces from the creator. Anyway, this will not cut off the relation with the reality, and will not become the infinite simulation without root. The digital traces are also functioned as a key to the magical image world. Interested viewers will be able to deep inside the new reality space, rethinking about the relation between space and people.
