肢體延異:「舞蹈空間」舞團作品風格探析

Body of differance: The Study and Analysis of Dance Style of Dance Forum Taipei

摘要


本研究企圖著重在舞蹈藝術的形式與風格,將「舞蹈空間」舞團的歷年作品放置在三個框架之中探討,一是以舞團自身發展脈絡尋找該團特質與精神,二是試圖探索舞團在臺灣現代舞發展過程中所代表的意義;三是透過後現代舞的觀念和方法探討作品風格,並藉由後現代主義的差異哲學觀點、德希達(Jacques Derrida)提出的「延異」(differance)探討舞團精神之於作品風格的影響。 本論文的研究方法採用質性研究,包含民族誌方法中的訪談與參與觀察,以及舞蹈研究方法中的動作描述、形式分析與舞蹈的歷史研究。本論文分析「舞蹈空間」舞團的四個製作五支作品,包含兩大類:一為具有戲劇或故事成分的舞蹈作品,一是講求肢體表現的舞蹈作品,透過後現代舞的概念與方法剖析作品,研究者從編舞家的創作概念與手法、舞者的身體使用方式,分析舞團的舞蹈作品如何呼應延異概念的開放與變動特質,並述及舞團在搬演多種不同風格的作品時,如何致力於肢體語彙的開發與探索上,使「舞蹈空間」舞者的身體擁有多種可能性。  由於「舞蹈空間」舞團以多元創新為核心精神,邀請不同創作者參與,因而造就每支作品的風格迥異,舞團對舞蹈的概念不僅僅是實現編舞家的構想,也是一個探索的載體,藉由每次的創作,企圖找出新的表現方式與肢體語彙,舞者具有多元彈性的身體能力,舞團精神與後現代主義的去中心概念不謀而合:重視差異、過程與遊戲,沒有固定的形象、具有變動性的特質。

Focusing on the analysis of dance forms and styles, this study attempts to examine the works of Dance Forum Taipei in three frameworks: firstly, to find characteristic and ethos of Dance Forum Taipei in their own developmental context; secondly, to explore the meaning of Dance Forum Taipei as reflecting the development of modern dance in Taiwan; at last, to discuss the style of works through the concepts and methods of post-modern dance, and discuss the ethos of Dance Forum Taipei and its relationship to the styles of works through the ideas of the philosophy of difference, especially Jacques Derrida’s notion of differance. The methodology of this thesis is qualitative research, which includes interview, and participant observation of the ethnographic method, and movement description, formal analysis and historical research of dance research method. This study analyzes five works of four productions of Dance Forum Taipei, which include two kinds: one covers works with stronger theatricality and narratives, and the other focuses more on physical expression. Adopting the concept and method of post-modern dance to analysis the works, the researcher tries to examine how the works respond to the concept of difference and variability by discussing the conception of choreographers and the dancers’ use of the body. The researcher also discusses how the Company strives to develop and explore physical vocabularies, which allows the dancers to have more possibilities in their bodies. Dance Forum Taipei views diversity and innovation as its core values, and the different artists invited often create mutually different styles. For the company, dance not only means the realization of choreographers’ idea, but also a vehicle to explore new expressions and physical vocabularies through the creation of each work. The dancers have flexibility and variability in terms of their physical ability. The ethos of Dance Forum Taipei is in consistence with concepts of de-centralization of postmodernism that emphasize on difference, process and game, as well as unfixed image and variability.
