Non-profit organizations (NPOs) have been thriving in recent years. Most NPOs are dependent on outside donations to maintain organizational operations; therefore, it would be challenging if resources from contributors were insufficient. As a result, outside donations play an important role to the operations of NPOs, and understanding factors that influence the donation willingness from contributors is critical to NPOs. It is generally believed that individuals’ decision makings might be influenced by personal factors; however, there is little research investigating the impact of personal ethical philosophies and conflict handling styles on donation willingness, particularly to stray-animal NPOs. In addition, research on stray-animal NPOs mostly focuses on issues of organizational management and policies, only very few studies investigate the donation willingness to stray-animal NPOs. Accordingly, taking stray-animal NPOs as examples, the study explores the associations among personal philosophies, conflict handling styles, and donation willingness. The study also investigates the impact of demographic variables of participants on donation willingness. The research findings indicate that regarding ethical philosophies, relativism, utilitarianism, and deontology have significant effects on donation willingness. As to conflict handling styles, integration, compromise, and avoid styles have significant effects on donation willingness. In particular, these three styles all reveal equal concerns to self and others when confronting conflicts. Also, females reveal significant higher donation willingness than males in the study.
