摘要

本文旨在呈現筆者翻譯李•葛拉赫(Lee Gerlach)所著詩集《Highwater》(江漲)的過程、譯詩與心得，一方面探討筆者如何將所學翻譯技巧運用在詩的翻譯上，另一方面也評析作者的中詩譯作。
本論文共分五章，第一章說明筆者的研究動機與目的，並介紹原著與作者。第二章為筆者參酌翻譯理論後所採取的翻譯策略，並簡述翻譯過程。第三章為譯文。第四章為翻譯實例探討，研究各種翻譯技巧，將理論與實務作一連結。第五章為結論，筆者提出個人心得及建議，作為自己日後努力的方向，也供各界參考。

This thesis presents the author’s translation of the poetry《Highwater》written by Lee Gerlach, and further discussion of the translation, strategies and techniques applied, along with criticisms of Gerlach’s translation from Chinese poems.
The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 provides the purpose and motive of the study and gives a brief introduction of both the author and the content of the source poetry. Chapter 2 focuses on the author’s translation strategy and translating process. Chapter 3 is the translation of the source poetry. Chapter 4, the main body of the thesis,analyzes the problems the author encounters and probes into the application of translation theories and techniques to the translation work.This Chapter also suggests an appropriate method to evaluating the translation of poems. Chapter 5 concludes with a summary of the author’s experience in translating the poetry and offers some suggestions for translators.
