近年來台灣地區外籍勞工人數不斷成長,許多產業之工作十分仰賴外籍勞工,是故外籍勞工在台灣扮演相當重要的角色,同時外籍勞工在台灣的適應情況已經成為必須面對且重要的議題。在此情形之下,外勞在台灣的適應情況儼然成為跨文化管理者所必須探討的重大議題。然而,近年來有關雇主漠視外籍勞工宗教習俗和風俗習慣的社會新聞時有所聞,可見目前有關適應的跨文化研究大多數著重於工作績效的表現或是物質層面的適應情況,卻較少針對心靈層面的探討,例如宗教傾向以及衝突處理風格對適應情況的關聯性。 因此,本研究探討台灣地區不同國籍之外籍勞工宗教傾向、衝突處理風格與適應情況之間的關聯性。本研究針對台灣地區287位印尼、泰國、菲律賓、越南等不同國籍之外籍勞工進行問卷調查,其中針對不同國籍的調查對象將問卷翻譯成不同語言。研究結果發現外籍勞工之宗教信仰傾向與衝突處理風格對於其適應情況有顯著影響,不同國籍之外籍勞工其內外在宗教傾向與衝突處理風格對於其適應程度之顯著差異性,不同國籍之外籍勞工其內外在宗教傾向與衝突處理風格有顯著差異。
There has been an increasing population of foreign workers in Taiwan in recent years, and the industries rely on the foreign workers; therefore, foreign workers play an important role in Taiwan. In the meantime, the issue of these foreign workers’ adaptation has become more critical. In this case, the situation of their adaptation in Taiwan became a challenge to international business managers. However, the news about how the employers ignore the religion and customs of foreign workers are often occurred in recent years. It is perceived that previous studies about cross-cultural adaption mostly focus on working performance or on the material field; however, less attention has paid on the role of the spiritual field; for instant, the religious orientation and the styles of conflict handling. Hence, this study investigates how the religious orientation and the conflict handling styles affect the living and working adaption of foreign workers in Taiwan. Using the survey method, the study takes foreign workers, who came from Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines, as research subjects. The questionnaires were translated into English, Thai, and Vietnamese. The research results indicate that there are significant relationships between foreign workers’ religious orientation and adaptation, and the conflict handling styles of foreign workers also has significantly impact on their adaptation. There are significant differences in religious orientation and conflict handling styles among foreign workers from Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.
