摘要

本論文旨在彙整筆者翻譯《哈利波特之神秘的魔法石》（Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone）一書的心得與翻譯方法，並探討筆者如何將翻譯理論與策略，應用在奇幻文學的翻譯工作上。
論文共有六章。第一章為緒論，說明筆者進行本論文研究之緣起與目的。第二章為作者與原著介紹，簡介作者生平、本書內容，以及書評。第三章為翻譯計畫，說明筆者翻譯本書之前置準備，翻譯過程中理解與詮釋的過程，並說明本書的翻譯原則與策略，作為翻議過程中的準則與依歸。第四章為《哈利波特之神秘的魔法石》之譯文。第五章則是列舉翻譯本書所應用到之技巧，與翻譯過程中遭遇難題之解決方法與實例探討。第六章為結論，提出筆者翻譯本書之心得並提出建議。
筆者盼能透過此論文，提供從事奇幻文學翻譯人士一些實用的翻譯方法，期望能對其有所幫助，進而提升奇幻文學翻譯之品質。

The objective of the study is to organize this author’s thoughts and methods in translating of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” written by J.K. Rowling and to discuss the translation theories and strategies this author applies to the translation of Fantasy Literature.
The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces the author’s research motivations and goals. The second chapter provides an introduction to J.K. Rowling and “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” including a brief description of the author’s biography, the content of the book, and the book review. The third chapter presents the author’s translation plans, including the preparation before translation, the comprehension and interpretation process, and the translation principles and strategies. The fourth chapter is the translation of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” The fifth chapter discusses the problems encountered during translation with examples and offers possible solutions. The concluding chapter, chapter six, presents some thoughts and suggestions based on the author’s experience in translation the book.
It is hoped that the principles and strategies presented in this study serve as references for people engaged in Fantasy Literature translation and help improve the quality of Fantasy Literature translation.
