知識基礎資源、Web 2.0特性與功能對 組織績效影響之實證研究

摘要


策略的資源基礎觀點主張有價值、稀少、不易模仿(包括不易替代)的資源具有創造優異績效的潛力(Barney, 1991; 1995);而知識資源有其難以模仿的本質,更助於促進企業間持續性的差異化(McEvily & Chakravarthy, 2002)。 面對企業無形資產的管理、儲蓄與運用,企業應選擇何種策略態勢來匹配?本研究以有利於掌握外部市場機會及影響內部運作的策略態勢作為研究構面:「Web 2.0特性與功能」將企業知識資源與資訊科技作結合。本研究認為在Web 2.0時代下,許多企業運用資訊的技術也相當成熟,且利用資訊技術跨越時間、空間與組織界限的工具與技術,為組織本身帶來更為優越的競爭優勢。實證上則以知識基礎資源與Web 2.0特性與功能的主效應、情境模式,探討對組織績效的影響。 本研究以天下雜誌500大服務業為實證研究對象,於2008年2月至4月間進行問卷調查,一共寄發500份問卷,有效回收問卷為144份,有效問卷回收率為28.8%。採用階層迴歸分析作為研究變數關聯性的分析方法,研究結果顯示:(1)主效應對外部市場及內部管理績效有顯著作用;(2)情境模式對外部市場及內部管理績效有顯著作用。 根據研究結果,進一步提出管理意涵:(1)實證結果除支持資源基礎觀點外,在外部市場及內部管理績效方面,亦支持本文主張的當面對有價值的資源,應以適當的策略態勢,將公司組織起來,以創造及維持競爭優勢;(2) Web 2.0特性與功能能為公司帶來豐厚的利潤;(3)根據情境模式結果顯示,Web 2.0特性與功能確實能引導公司對資源的運用,對知識基礎資源具有調和的效果並達到優異的績效。

Resource-based theories of strategy (RBV) argue that firms with valuable, rare, nonsubstitutable and inimitable resources have the potential of achieving superior performance (Barney, 1991; 1995). The knowledge resources are inherently difficult to imitate, thus facilitating sustainable differentiation (McEvily & Chakravarthy, 2002). In order to study the strategic posture a firm chooses to come up against management at Web 2.0 era, we choose two research constructs which facilitate to capture outside opportunity and affect internal operation simultaneously. A firm may combine the enterprise knowledge resources and the information technology with the Web 2.0 characteristic and functionality to obtain superior competitive advantage. In this study, we conduct hierarchical regression to test the effect of knowledge-based resources and Web 2.0 characteristic and functionality on organizational performance. During February to April in 2008, we acquired 144 samples from Common Wealth Magazine’s Top 500 companies in Service Industry. The return rate of samples is 28.8%. The regression analysis shows that: (1) Main effect has significant impact on organizational performance. (2) Contingency model has significant impact on organizational performance. According to our findings, we propose the following management suggestions: (1) When confronting the valuable resources, the firms should organize the company by the suitable strategic posture to create and maintain competitive advantage in both the external market and the internal management performance. (2) The Web 2.0 characteristic and functionality can bring the rich profit for the company. (3) According to contingency model results, it shows that the Web 2.0 characteristic and functionality can guide the company truly to utilize the resources, thus it has well harmonized effect for the Knowledge-based resources and achieved the outstanding performance.
