Service Innovations for Bridging the Information Divide: Policy Implications for Malawi

指導教授 : 林博文

摘要

The telecommunications industry is a global industry interconnecting the whole world in a web of networks. Developments taking place in this industry are shifting world economies to Information Societies. Most governments are liberalizing their industries to govern the new environments. This triggers competition which then pushes for quality goods and services for consumers. Governments lagging in embracing the new phenomenon get isolated from the rest of the world - commonly referred to as the ‘digital divide’ (the gap that exists in the opportunities to access advanced information and communication technologies between geographic areas or by individuals at different socio-economic levels).
