萬曆南京外地書商周履靖與《夷門廣牘》的出版歷程

摘要
在明代中期坊刻蓬勃的發展下，不少書商由各地聚集至南京刻書。在此波出版熱潮下，嘉興文人周履靖亦於萬曆二十五年至南京設書坊，其所出版的叢書《夷門廣牘》受市場歡迎，屢次改版再印。然而，此書長期以來被研究者視為晚明山人雜輯之書，從未由出版角度正視此書的價值。 周履靖身為一名跨地域的出版者，自嘉興遠赴南京刻書，不僅是為了追求出版利潤，更重要的是總結一生藏書與創作刊成一部百卷叢書傳世。再印的過程中，周氏一再調整《夷門廣牘》的目錄分類、序跋刊字、句讀標註、配置插圖，並將數十年的藏書與人脈化作出版資源，將自身具備的出版條件發揮至最大的優勢。在周氏精心編輯下，此書既有豐富的編排形式且於名流贈答題序上下足功夫，成功吸引了消費者。故其暢銷並非偶然。實際上，周履靖是擷取蘇州固有的文化資源，並因應晚明南京的市場喜好，匯集成一套兼具類書與叢書特質的新型態的叢書。因此，透過其出版歷程的研究，可見明中葉蘇州的藏書與刻書文化，對晚明叢書發展的重要影響。 本文比較《夷門廣牘》前後四種版本，探討周履靖刊刻此書的過程，並由叢書的內容與形式，分析出版者的編輯策略。綜合以往學界從藝術、養生、飲食等文化領域研究《夷門廣牘》的成果，討論此書所收錄的書種價值、文稿來源、市場流布等問題。首先比較蘇州與南京的坊本類型，藉此凸顯二地坊刻的特點，再進一步討論南京最重要的刻書地——三山街與狀元境。除了追索三山街出版家族的起源，更討論狀元境的刻書類型，歸結出三山街商肆的特質與狀元境書坊的刊書類型，發掘出南京坊刻有別於其他晚明出版中心的特色。歸結出晚明南京在科舉商旅活動的盛興下，城市人口流動頻繁，其圖書市場因而具備多元開放的特質，是南京吸引外地書商大量進駐的原因，更是南京坊刻不可取代的優勢。

Industries had rapidly opened for business during the middle of Ming dynasty. Many commercial publishers gathered from all over to Nanjing to caver books. In this wave of publishing boom, a Jiaxing literati Zhou Lujing set up a bookstore in Nanjing in 1597, and the collection “Yimen guangdu” which he published was welcome in the market, then printed repeatedly revised. However, this book has long been seen as researches as the series of book by Shan Ren in the late Ming period, and they never face up to the publication of this book from the perspective of its value. As a incoming publisher, Zhou Lujing travel across to Nanjing to publish, not only to pursue publishing profits, more importantly to summarize the book collection in life and published a one hundred volumes of collection. In the process, Zhou repeated adjustment the directory tree, prefaces and postscripts published word, sentence to read labels, configure illustrations in the book, and decades of publishing books and contacts turned into a resource, with the publication of the condition itself to play the biggest advantage. Through Zhou carefully edited, this book had both rich style of presentation, succeeded in attracting consumers. Therefore, “Yimen guangdu” selling well was not accidental, in fact, Zhou captured the inherent cultural resources in Suzhou, and respond the preference in Nanjing book market, both together into a new kind of encyclopedias and book traits of books. Through the research process of publication, can discovery the collections and culture of cavering in Suzhou, and had series development of an important influence. The research is to study Zhou’s publishing process, by the content and form of books, analyzing the policy editor publisher. Comprehensive results of previous academic research “Yimen guangdu” from the cultural arts, health, diet, etc., and discuss about the kind of book value, document source, the book market. In addition, the thesis is also relatively types of bookstore in Suzhou and Nanjing, thereby highlighting the features of book block-printed ching in this two places, to further discuss the important book block-printed in Nanjing—— Three Mountains Street and Zhuang Yuan Jing. On the one hand recourse the origins of the publishing family in Three Mountains Street, the other hand discuss the type of book block-printed in Zhuang Yuan Jing. Attributing the qualities of business area in Three Mountains Street, as well as the type of print books bookshop in the territory of Zhuang Yuan Jing, it is further to see the different characteristic in publishing centers in Nanjing in the late of Ming dynasty. The prosperous imperial examination and business activities, and increased the frequently movement population in city. Its book market and therefore have the characteristics of diversity and openness were attract other places commercial publishers, it is also a strong point of block-printed in Nanjing.
