Occupation-related illnesses are caused by long-term exposure to dangerous environments. In order to protect workers' health and prevent occupational illnesses, regular health examinations should be implemented. Any abnormalities found can increase the likelihood of early detection and prevention of occupation-related illnesses. The occupation-related illnesses center coordinates information such as clinical studies data, X-rays, medical image, and test results to provide additional assistance and related information to doctors, professional units and employees. Our research utilizes a three-layered network structure, JSP, and database technology to construct a web-based occupational-related illnesses information system. This system allows users at various levels such as general user, factory unit, hospital or supervisors to access their occupation-related illnesses data. Our main objectives are: (1) to establish a occupation hygiene information base; (2) to provide user-friendly instructions, customer service and secured information; (3) to create analytical functions, and provide trend analysis. Upon completion of our research, it will make available for employee to access information, such as annual data analysis, inter-departmental studies, factory-to-factory analysis and trends at the factory and hospital. In turn the employee can have a better understand of his/her own health condition. For the factory and hospital, this is designed to reflect total employees' participation; the result reflects the average, and individuals and groups comparison of the annual data. Our research took 15 surveys, and the results are 66 % satisfied, and 80% agree that the system is easy to use. This shows that a general user can easily learn the web-based system. The users’ suggestions are more powerful analytical functions, which can enhance the medical surveillance and prevent occupation-related illnesses.
