台灣玻璃加工廠商經營策略之探討

摘要


玻璃加工產品已發展多年,在人類生活中佔極大的比重,也與眾多產業有密切的結合。而本研究主要是要探討玻璃加工廠商的投資經營策略,了解目前台灣玻璃加工產業之形態,以及廠商未來的發展,且目前台灣加入EFCA後,使玻璃市場產生了結構性的變化,受到全球的競爭,玻璃加工業是否應該提升品質、通路以是否需加強研發及創新,往高附加價值產品為本研究的動機。   而本研究將先介紹台灣玻璃加工業的產業概況,再藉由訪談過程及文獻、次級資料的蒐集,對玻璃加工產業環境作描述,並針對大中小型規模廠商做分析與探討。利用產業價值鏈針對不同的投入項與產出項進一步討論,再用「策略矩陣分析法」找出大中小型規模的廠商所採取的經營策略,了解該產業內經營策略關鍵成功因素,同時擬定出未來廠商經營方向以及策略。   在探討的過程中發現,台灣玻璃加工廠商眾多,彼此競爭相當激烈,如何去找到自身的優勢以及如何面對大環境的挑戰,是廠商重要課題之一,在大型規模的廠商,主要提供玻璃製品以及玻璃加工製品並加強國際行銷。而中型規模廠商主要是以群聚的方式為主來提升競爭,小型規模廠商以加強研發並以客製化為主,在大中小型規模廠商有一個共通點,就是以群聚或者合作的方式,來把效益極大化。每家廠商必須加強研發以及創新並互相合作才能使玻璃加工產業發展更蓬勃。

With the development of the glass processing product for many years, the glass processing product play an important role in our daily life and is related to many industries, among which the construction industry, the automobile industry, and furniture industry are involved most. The main purposes of the study are to discuss the business strategy of Taiwan Glass Process Industry, and also to understand current status and the development of Taiwan Glass Process Industry in the future. Also, the glass market in Taiwan has been changed in its own structures in the industry after Taiwan joined ECFA. Therefore, in the highly competitive world, whether Taiwan Glass Process Industry should improve its quality, and whether the channels should improve its R&D and innovation to reach the product with high value added, are the purposes of this study. First of all, the study will introduce the overview of the glass processing industry in Taiwan, and then give the description of the environment of the industry through the collection of interviews, literatures, and secondary data. Lastly, it will discuss and analyze the firms of the large-scale, the medium-scale, and the small-scale. To understand the key successful factors of the business strategies of the industry, use the Industrial Value Chain to discuss different levels of inputs and outputs in the industry, and then use Strategic Matrix to find out the strategies of different scales of the firms. Meanwhile, by using those methods, we can decide the direction and the strategies of the firms of this industry for the future. From this study, we found out that the rival competition is strong. How to find out their own strength and how to overcome the challenges of the environment have become the main issues for Taiwan Glass Process firms. For the large-scale glass processing manufacturers, they mainly provide glass product and glass processing product and focus on international marketing. For those medium-scale manufacturers, they mainly increase their competition by gathering together with other medium-scale manufactures, and as for those small-scale manufacturers, they mainly focus on R&D and customization. However, the main issues of all manufactures are to cooperate with each other or gather together to make the benefit maximum. Each manufacture must enhance not only R&D and innovation but also cooperate mutually. Only in this way, they can make the development of Taiwan Glass Process Industry more prosperous.
