大氣低溫平面式電漿應用於牙周病菌失活

The Inactivation of Periodontal Bacteria by Non-thermal Atmospheric Pressure Planar-Plasma

摘要


隨著國人健康意識抬頭,對於牙齒的健康越來越重視,且非常注重牙齒的美觀,如整齊度、美白等。根據民國100年衛生福利部統計的結果發現,雖和過往相比,對於口腔保養的人次有明顯的上升,但牙周病的發生年齡層有逐漸下降的趨勢,這說明了即便進行口腔清潔,但常有不易清潔的地方,因此許多解決辦法被提出,包含漱口水及牙線等,但仍有不足之處。低溫介電層阻擋放電電漿目前已廣泛於醫療應用上,常被應用於傷口治療、細菌滅除上。最大特點在於可對活體組織上進行滅菌,且不具傳統電漿的高溫效應,是一種具有成為口腔清潔的潛力工具。低溫大氣電漿產生的活性氧物種(Reactive Oxygen Species, ROS)是滅除細菌主要原因。活性氧物種會對造成細菌產生氧化壓力,或是和微生物結合,使得表面結構形成揮發性物質,最終造成結構的破損,並達到殺菌的效果。本研究以自製大氣低溫平面式電漿滅除口腔細菌。電源訊號的頻率、Vpp及系統總功耗分別為652.7 Hz、8 kV、1.605 W。定量滅菌結果顯示9秒連續激發電漿進行滅除距離反應器10 mm的E. coli,其效果可達完全滅菌;30分鐘可完全滅除距離反應器10 mm的S. aureus。連續激發1分鐘下,反應器表面的溫度是人體口腔可接受的範圍,且反應器的滅菌均勻程度呈現高度的一致性。因此可推論此自製的電漿系統具有實際應用於人體口腔,且有效滅除口腔細菌的潛在能力。

Rising conscious of health, civilians, in Taiwan, gradually pay attention on the health of teeth, such as orderliness, whiting etc. According to the results of statistical analysis on the oral hygiene, the number of people caring about their hygiene situation are raising, but obvious trend of incidence over younger generation are raising too. It is mean that even people maintain their oral hygiene by mouthwash, residual bacteria still existed. Recently, dielectric barrier discharge non-thermal pressure plasma, however, is widely apply on medical field, especially wound healing, sterilization etc. Unlike heat plasma, non-thermal pressure plasma does not have heat effect, so possessing potential to be a sterilization tool in oral environment. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), the main factor to sterilize bacteria, are generated by non-thermal pressure plasma. By causing oxidative pressure to bacteria or combing with surface of bacteria to form volatile structure, ROS will inactive bacteria. By self-make non-thermal pressure planner plasma system, this study will concentrate on sterilizing periodontal bacteria. In results, power signal frequency, peak to peak voltage, power consumption are 652.7 Hz, 8 kV, 1.605 W respectively. The result of sterilizing on E. coli and S. aureus is show that plasma can completely sterilize E. coli in 9 s when the sample far 10 mm from reactor surface. Plasma can completely sterilize S. aureus in 30 min when the sample far 10 mm from reactor surface. Below 1 min, the temperature of the surface of reactor is acceptable in human oral environment. As a result, this self-make non-thermal pressure planner plasma system have potential to apply in human oral, and it can sterilize effectively.
