Relationship between Personality Traits and Technostress of Using Instant Messaging

With the rapid development of information technology in the workplace, employees not only need to be familiar with the functions and interfaces of various information systems, but also need to use information systems (instant messaging software) to complete their tasks. Employers use instant messaging software to send messages to keep track of work progress and performance returns, and to achieve work benefits, it also causes psychological pressure on employees. Whether the pressure brought about by technology has a negative impact on the psychological level of employees is a topic worthy of discussion. Therefore, this research uses personality traits and technological pressure to explore the technological pressure of instant messaging software that employees face, and identifies the relationship between their employers and employees. And through the research results of technological pressure surveyed by the questionnaire to examine whether this response strategy can reduce its psychological impact. Examining the related literature in the past, it is found that fewer studies have conducted in-depth discussions on the perception of technological pressures by users of different personality traits. Therefore, this study firstly explores the relationship between different personality traits facing instant messaging software and technological pressure through relevant literature discussion and questionnaire survey method; secondly, it uses military and non-military personnel as the adjustment variables to explore the pressure on technology of users with different personality traits While improving the informationization of instant messaging software in the workplace, it also explores the relationship between different personality traits and the pressure of instant messaging software technology to help understand the state of employees from a psychological level and reduce their technological pressure. The study found that the technological pressure of using instant messaging software has been investigated in this study. The most influential one is technological intrusion, followed by technological uncertainty, and then technological overload. There are two significant differences between military and non-military personnel in terms of the technological pressure of using instant messaging software (technological intrusion and technological complexity). There are two significant differences in personality traits between soldiers and non-soldiers (emotional stability and pleasantness). The emotional stability of military personnel is higher than that of non-soldiers; it means that although military personnel have higher emotional stability, they can easily affect the degree of technological pressure when they are emotionally unstable. Non-soldiers feel more pleasant than military personnel; they indicate that their personalities are more cordial and People who are compassionate and easy to cooperate with others are more likely to consider the connection between friends and colleagues. Therefore, it may be easier to care and pay attention to the messages of instant messaging software, and it is easier to generate pressure invisibly.
