The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is a non-contact identification technology, which has been widely used in access control management, logistics systems, electronic wallet, and other fields. In this thesis, we apply the technology to develop a plug-and-play RFID roll-calling system prototype. The system uses a memory unit to store the application program, such that the teachers just have to plug the device into a USB slot of a computer to start the program. Then it can be used for roll calls via the RFID student card. The attendance records can be synchronized to the Google Drive such that the teacher can watch and manage the records anywhere later. The prototype system can reduce the time wasted by traditional roll calls, and help teachers understand and grasp the situation of classroom attendance. We hope by such a way the quality of teaching can be enhanced.
