本論文提出一種適用於大尺寸液晶顯示面板之LED背光驅動電路,採用單級充電幫浦非對稱半橋轉換器架構,高效率、高功率因數、簡單電路和低成本的特性要求均能夠被達成。為了調整矩陣型LED背光系統之LED電流和亮度,一種調光控制方法被使用,在輸出電流漣波被顯著降低的同時,並聯LED陣列間的電流分流與亮度平衡亦可同時滿足。也由於旁路二極體的設計,在單顆LED損壞時提供額外之電流路徑,將可有效改善LED背光系統的可靠度。ㄧ部雛型電路被實現及測試,其模擬與實驗結果,驗證了所提出方法的可行性。
In this thesis, a LED backlight driving system for large scale LCD panels is proposed. High efficiency, high power factor, circuit simplicity, and low cost can be achieved by using a single-stage charge-pump asymmetrical-half-bridge converter. To regulate the LED current and brightness for the lattice structure of LED backlight system, a dimming control method is presented. The requirements for the current sharing and luminance balance between paralleled LED arrays can be satisfied while current ripple is eliminated significantly. Due to the addition of a bypass diode, an alternative current path will be offered during a single-LED failure. Reliability of the LED backlight system can be thus improved effectively. A laboratory prototype has been built and tested. The simulation and experimental results are shown to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.
