摘要

在過去幾十年中，美國與中國經濟關係有顯著的擴大與成長。然而，美中經濟關係在
許多議題上也變得緊張，包括美國與中國的貿易逆差大幅增長，以及中國未能全面履
行對世界貿易組織（WTO）的承諾。所以美國政府決定對中國採取積極的報復政策，
導致升級為兩國之間的貿易戰。因此，本文通過分析 1991 - 2017 年的數據，研究關
稅對美國總體經濟的影響，資料包括國內生產總值（GDP），進口關稅稅率和 9 個重
要生產部門的產出。實證結果顯示，在這段期間 ， 美國與中國的關稅稅率對美國
GDP 成長率和失業率並沒有顯著的影響。然而，中國對美國農業的進口關稅稅率對美
國的 GDP 成長率卻有正向的影響。

Over the previous few years, US-China economic relations have significantly expanded.
However, US-China economic relations have become tense on a number of issues, including
large and growing US trade deficits with China. The Trump administration than decided to
take aggressive action against several commercial and economic practices in China.
Therefore, this thesis examines major US-China trade issues and investigate the influence of
trade on the US macroeconomy including Domestic Production (GDP), import tariff rate,
inflation rate, exchange rate, import from China and output of 9 important sectors by
analyzing the data from 1991-2017 on sectoral and aggregate level. The empirical results
show no significant influence of tariff rate on the US GDP and unemployment rate. However,
if we look into the sectoral results, there is positive and striking impact of tariff rate on
economic growth of agriculture sector.
