The military village is a unique culture and growth memory in Taiwan. It carries the life experience of many people and is also a precious cultural asset in Taiwan's development. As time goes by, after the demolition of the old house and the death of the elderly, the culture also disappears immediately. Cultural integration and continuation of the existing material symbols in Taiwan. How can we use local cultural memory materials in today's interior space in interior design, so that the cultural symbols belonging to Taiwan's tradition can be reproduced and continued to be used, and the memory of the era can be re-used. For rebirth, this research raises two questions: (1) What are the cultural life appearances and symbolic meanings of the old materials in the early military dependents’ village space? (2) How are the new and old cultural materials used in space design? Based on the above problems, this research first uses the case study method to understand the relationship between spatial materials and symbols that are commonly used in military villages. And symbolic factor analysis to find out the relationship between the more commonly used materials and cultural significance in the military village space, the second step is the expert interview, interviewing two experts and scholars who have made considerable contributions and research to the military village culture, and obtained from the interview. In addition to the correlation between the military village culture and the space material, the first necessity for the preservation of the military village culture is the combination of the material elements of the military village. The important material elements that will be used in today's space design in the future, and we have learned about various aspects from interviews with experts and scholars. The material elements of the military village space, the relevance and application of each element and the meaning of the culture behind it. After research and analysis, the basic material elements that often appear in the military village space are classified into five categories, namely the ground, wall, ceiling, color and other materials. The more commonly used material elements are the red door, blue-green window frame and Red brick wall elements, these three types of basic material elements are more representative of the military village space, and the combination of materials can better express the military village space. The reproduction method of the military village space is not only the use of basic materials, but also the story of the military village period. Sexual elements and living elements, the understanding and use of the three elements can better represent the spatial symbolism of military dependents’ villages at that time. The materials of many military villages are gradually disappearing due to different construction methods. In some areas, the use of materials is also different due to different military types and attributes. In the future, through the secondary coding of materials, subdivision and classification can be used to analyze more diverse material elements. Through the use of materials and the understanding of cultural significance, it can be combined with community schools, kindergartens, reading halls, etc., and the local military village culture can be added to the architectural design and interior design. The silver-haired people, youth and children can use the space to allow residents of the community to use the space. Knowing the space and life story of the military village here, express it with new space and new environment, not a boring story hall and memorial hall that needs to actively participate in the space, but to make the space really useful, It also allows future youth and children to learn about the unique culture of military dependents’ villages in Taiwan.
