由於電腦運算能力與網路技術的提升,各種不同的攻擊手法也跟著日新月異,為了解決這些層出不窮的網路攻擊,資訊安全研究人員發展了多種偵測和防禦的技術,但是測試的進行需要大量的時間在軟硬體環境的建置上,在網路安全測試平台(Testbed@TWISC)提供了測試的建置環境後,關鍵的問題是在測試環境的規劃、測試資料的準備以及測試程序的規劃與執行。可以自動化的進行測試能夠降低測試的建立與執行需要時間與高度的專業障礙,使研究者可以將時間和精神專注於偵測或防禦技術的發展,對於偵測和防禦的技術研究會有大幫助。
Since enhance computing power and network technology, various methods of attack also followed each passing day. To thwart the ever increasing amount of computer system attacks, computer system security researchers invest their efforts and talents in the development of all kinds of attack detection or defense schemes. To validate the effectiveness of the schemes, conducting appropriate evaluation test is required. With the establishment of the network security testbed Testbed@TWISC, the most critical issues in conducting such test are: planning and configuring testing environment close to real network environment. Automate the planning, configuring, data providing and test conducting will greatly reduce the burden in developing new attack detection or defense scheme.
