Benzotriazole-based materials tethered with tetraphenylethylene derivatives were successfully synthesized via palladium complex catalyzed C-C and C-N coupling reaction. These new chromophores have the aggregation-induced-emission properties. The Opto-properties can be tuned by different electron donors and the conjugation length, which could lead to a higher HOMO. Higher HOMO energy level is beneficial for intramolecular charge transfer. There is no obvious solvent effect for fluorescence emission, and they are all emitted from the blue-green region at about 530 nm. In the film state, compound TPE-1 shows a significant increase in the emission intensity. In addition, in the aggregation-induced emission test, when the proportion of water (poor solvent) increased, higher emission intensity also appeared, which shows that TPE-1 has excellent properties of aggregation-inducedemission.
