The purpose of this study is to investigate the method of using γ-rays instead of X-rays to make up for the lack of sensitivity when the thickness of the detected object is less than 19mm in radiography. In this study, the experimental verification of the references was completed first in the process, and the differences in the practical selection methods of γ-ray, X-ray and AGFA D7 and D4 film were confirmed. During the experiment, five test pieces were irradiated with two kinds of radiation sources and negative film, and the type, imager and defects on the negative film were carefully observed. The thickness of the inspected object is 10mm to 19mm, and the X-ray can be replaced by γ-ray and AGFA D4 film, but the inspection object smaller than 10mm can still be photographed with X-ray and AGFA D7 film. Taking reasonable reduction as the criterion, the priority is to minimize the exposure accepted by the on-site staff.
