Effects of Associative Reasoning on Students’ Learning Performance

During the past years, as technological rapid changes, many technology-assisted learning strategies have presented, such as Game-base learning and Mobile learning. Almost all of game-based learning or mobile learning are only different from the package, but the contents are nothing more than highlights or multiple-choice questions. This study proposes the "Associative Reasoning" learning strategy, different from the general multiple choice there is no question instruct students how to answer. The students should find an association from four choice of options. Also there is no hits to suggest student how to choose, the students should find the correlation between options by Thinking and Reasoning. After all, the students find an option not associated with the other options. By using "Associative Reasoning" learning strategy to increase students’ active thinking and reasoning skills, further to enhance students' learning effectiveness and memory. The findings indicate that, after the students use the "Associative Reasoning" approach, they are more understanding the course content, and have significant different than not use "Associative Reasoning" control group on the posttest learning achievement. The experiment results of this study shows that using the "Associative Reasoning" can help students learn more impression and enhance learning ability.
