The word ‘archive’ can be both an unfamiliar but still familiar term to us living in modern times. Archives not only pass on history to future generations but also provide a perfect passage for people to learn about the past.Before the Archives Act was enacted, there were no established criteria for File Management. It was not until the implementation of the Archives Act and the establishment of the National Archives Administration that File Management began to settle into pattern.Moreover, the National Archives Administration presents the Records Management Quality Awards in order to set a benchmark for administrative agencies and public schools, which induce these institutions to improve their file management from various aspects.In this research paper, Document Analysis, case study, and in-depth interviews are used to explore what kind of impact the Records Management Quality Awards have on File Management of administrative agencies. By taking National Chi Nan University for example, this study found that the Records Management Quality Awards do have positive effects on File Management quality of administrative agencies.
