In recent years, facing global warming, climate change, energy security and other critical stress, many countries have continued to explore energy conservation and carbon reduction and promote the development of renewable energy. In addition, the solar power industry has seen rapid growth in renewable energy as well as one of major emerging industries. This research is about the developing of a small economy—Taiwan's solar power industry as the main research object to explore whether born global firms exist. Furthermore, Taiwan's solar power industry is based on the internationalization process model and the born global model to explore international situation of solar firms in Taiwan. From 1962 to 2016, through the Taiwan Economics Journal database, data and the numbers of 49 listed solar firms are collected in Taiwan. Findings show that there are certainly born global firms in Taiwan. In addition, half of solar firms in Taiwan are followed the born global model and the others are followed the internationalization process model.
